Public Hearings Scheduled on Proposed FY 2008 Budget and Transit-Oriented Development Amendment
* FY 2008 Budget - County Executive Anthony H. Griffin presented his proposed $3.3 billion budget for FY 2008, which runs from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, to the Board of Supervisors at its Feb. 26 meeting. The presentation will be rebroadcast on Fairfax County Government Channel 16 on March 2 and March 5 at 9 p.m. It also will be available as video-on-demand on the county's Web site at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/cable throughout the month of March. Budget markup is scheduled for Monday, April 23, at 10 a.m. The formal adoption of the budget is scheduled for Monday, April 30, at 10 a.m. during the regularly scheduled board meeting.
* Transit-Oriented Development - A public hearing about a proposed amendment for transit-oriented development is scheduled before the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on Monday, March 12, at 5 p.m. in the Board Auditorium, Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. To be placed on the list of speakers, call 703-324-3151, TTY 711. The proposed plan amendment would be included in the county's Comprehensive Plan, which guides development in Fairfax County. This proposed amendment is a continuation of the work of the Planning Commission's Transit-Oriented Development Committee, which recently completed seven months of public meetings.
